Happiness in Hard Timesby Cynthia Jennings on June 17, 2020
How can I be happy during hard times? It’s a hard time! This hard time needs to pass so that I can get back to happiness.
The kind of happiness that matters during hard times has nothing to do with birthdays, special occasions accomplishments or accolades. Instead, happiness is personal and not contingent upon what someone else thinks. Happiness can occur during hard times if we understand the simplicity of happiness.
Simplicity of happiness has nothing to do with abilities or gifting, feats or great achievement. Simplicity of happiness is simply a selfless devotion to Jesus Christ that allows nothing or no one to come between you and Him.
Having a simple selfless devotion to Jesus Christ will help you understand the following:
*Happiness is not a thing to be achieved but it is a thing to be experienced. It’s a way of life.
*It’s a choice one makes to love one self enough to live in gratitude, even during the hard times.
*Don’t hide or pretend the hard times isn’t real. Acknowledge and find positive meanings and emotions.
*Give up wrong idea/perspective about what makes you happy and stop comparing your happiness to others thus overlooking or not pursuing your own bliss.
*Being grateful feeds your happiness, taking the focus solely off the hard times.
When you find yourself allowing hard times to steal your happiness, we’ve all been there. Don’t just think about your selfless devotion to Jesus Christ think about His selfless devotion to you.
