Reflections

Reflections
Clouds, mountains and women. What do they all have in common? As I intently observe the distinct shape of these clouds, I hear “reflection.” Hours later as I am gazing at the mountain top, I once again hear the word “reflection.” My mind immediately began to do an overview reflection of my life. But almost instantly I hear NO! That’s not what I’m talking about. Now I’m confused. I’m in an extremely relaxed state observing God’s creation and during these times it’s not uncommon to reflect on life. Then I hear, “you are a woman!” OK Lord what are you trying to get out of me or show me?
As women we are so busy with life and taking care of others. We often forget to see the beauty, or should I say God’s beauty within ourselves. I know we have gotten better at self-care, but that’s different from truly seeing God’s beauty within ourselves. And accepting our beauty from God’s perspective.

The light bulb went off! I reflected on the distinctly different forms of each cloud I observed from the plane. While looking at the mountains I thought about the length of time and the wear and tear it endured to finally develop into a mountain. I chuckled to myself. God has a great sense of humor. He is comparing me (women) to the clouds and mountains. An analogy I would have never thought of on my own…LOL.

Outer beauty is pleasant to the eye, as is the clouds and mountains. But no one really knows the intricate workmanship God used to create them. God wants us as women to switch (not neglect) the focus from the emphasis being on outer beauty to developing and continual growth of inner beauty. Yes, the clouds and mountains could be looked at as an analogy of our physical shape based off distinctly different forms that we visually see. However, the spiritual analogy of the distinctly different cloud forms and mountains depict the beautiful aftereffects from a duration of time unseen. We as women are fearfully and wonderfully made hand crafted by The Master. Our physical distinctly different forms shaped over a duration of time is what distinguishes us as women. But our internal distinctly different forms shaped over time is what sets us apart as Godly women. God made women anatomically alike but each with distinctly different forms developed over time. As He did independently with the clouds and mountains.

Although I may not fully understand God’s purpose for clouds and mountains. As a woman I don’t always fully understand God’s purpose me. However, as I reflect on how clouds, mountains and women are alike a huge smile covers my face. In knowing God intricately and intentionally made me, my perspective is different. Every time I see a cloud, I will be reminded of my inner beauty being distinctly formed overtime, nurtured by God and far more valuable to His kingdom.  Thus, my reflection brings me to it doesn’t matter if I fully understand the purpose. Just be willing to be distinctly formed.

I pray that you are smiling and can now can you see how clouds, mountains and women are alike. Our beauty is distinctly formed over time unseen.

PEARLStoPonder: God’s view of our beauty is the best view!

Psalm 139:14   I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

First Lady I can so appreciate this in so many ways this will aid in my mentoring of young ladies who far too often are comparing themselves to other around them and too those they see in the media. Being able to see and express to them they are uniquely formed with perfection will create great ease in my delivery.
