Destiny

Be careful of the noise that will distract you from your destiny! Destiny----our custom life calling for which you have been created or ordained to bring God glory and expand His kingdom impact. (Dr. Tony Evans).
This may sound harsh, but I’m going to say it anyway. If you don’t function as you were created to function you are useless. Don’t get upset with me yet. LOL! Appliances have a specific custom function, right? Albeit different, they serve you as the owner in its specific custom for your purpose and need. As we are all different in specific custom function, we all serve the owner (God) in our specific custom function for the purpose and need of the owner. Whew!! Ok.
Some appliances are loud when functioning. Thus, leaving the initial thought process or question. Why is it making all this noise? It’s been working fine. Is it broke? This can also happen on our journey of finding our destiny. The enemy is loud in your ear (the loud functioning appliance). Let me explain. The enemy is not telling you to do wrong. How could you be doing wrong because of all the blessings you are receiving? Instead, the enemy is loudly convincing you of your greatness because of all the blessings YOU are receiving from God. Thus, having you believe you are functioning in your custom purpose. Remember the thought process about the loud appliance? The noise from the appliance usually leads you to question if the appliance is according to its specific custom function. Yes, the blessings from God are great! However, the noise raises a question that has you thinking you are functioning improperly, rendering you not operating in your specific custom function (Destiny). You cannot reach your destiny if you only want blessings for selfish gain. You know the “me” syndrome. “I’m blessed and highly favored.” Unless God through Jesus Christ is the point of reference, not just in words but in your life, you will miss your destiny.
Dr. Tony Evans talked about the highway to destiny. I want to share with you two highways he discussed:
1. Highway of experience:
(A) The good: Encompasses positive experiences God will utilize for His purpose. (Luke 5:10)
(B) The bad: Encompasses failures, mistakes, regrets etc. caused by you. On this highway God gives the enemy permission to mess with you so He can see what you’re really like. (Luke 22:31)
(C) The bitter: Encompasses negative things caused by others. You have hostility due to how others treated you. (Genesis 50:20)
2.Highway of passion:
(A) A fire: Something you just can’t shake. (2 Corinthians 11: 24-27)
(B) The burden: Passion about something is so heavy it moves you to action. (which is usually beyond where you currently are). (Colossians 3:23)
(C) The vison: You receive God’s vision and are prepared to carry it out because you have allowed God to have your mind. (Proverbs 29:18)
God’s word will always validate your destiny. Your destiny will be confirmed with something or someone you have nothing to do with. Your destiny will always glorify God. It will benefit others and impact kingdom.
PEARLStoPONDER: Check the noise in your ear!
Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
